Change in direction

Hello my lovely!

Am freaking out slightly ... the car is saying bye bye tomorrow. After this I will be a biker mum. No.... not a motorbike mum .... lol ..... a cycling cargo bike mum. Does that sound sexy to you? If it doesn't... it will when you see my gorgeous toned ass in 4 months. lol.

We're getting a lender bike tomorrow. Yay! It'll give me a chance to practice and get some cycle routes cemented. We have a lot of bike paths around here, i want to utilise them alot.

So far.... no sewing... BUT... i thought I would start knitting so by the time winter comes around i will have stuff ready. LOL, I always get excited about knitting IN winter... this doesnt work when you want to wear stuff when it gets cold.

right... getting a slight hang of this blogging thing.... though.. must remember that photos help dont they?

right ....

Finding Time

If I could create something everyday I would be exceptionally happy and I know you would be too. So we make do with the time we have and what ever is left we get a little creative if we manage to actually stay awake long enough... Right?!

Well I managed to create* a few little things recently. The secret is keeping it small, within a time frame and missing out on playing the WiiU.

*create also refers to mending and repairing because it involves sewing too :o)

First off the sewing table is Bubble's new t-shirt dress reconstructed from my old t-shirt. Isn't it just adorbs? Eeeek. I just used one of her dresses as a template and hey presto!! Unfortunately my sewing machine shat itself so I hand sewed the sleeves on so tips on tension for jersey knit are all appreciate!

Next was a pair of shorts for Bear using a bed sheet our friend Brenda posted me recently. They are a winner with him so woohoo mummy points!

I also added a button to a skirt of Bubble's. See very creative?! Now I have a draw full of stuff to mend/alter to make me feel creative and a sense of accomplishment... Hurray!

Seeeew Awesome.

Oh Tina I do know the "thank god that is over" market face well. It's a bitter sweet feeling. I am so proud of you and all the hard work you put in. *chest pump*

Your next crochet project looks like so much fun. Definitely a rainbow fan so you go girl! I have to admit I am not feelin the crochet love right now. I think I just need to go shopping in an awesome yarn shop for project inspiration, ya know?! I was thinking of getting back to my paper piecing hexagons (yep I am still working on it as I have no set time to finish it, maybe my grandchildren will help me finish it in 50 years OR you and I can sit on a rocking chairs crafting away and we'll finish it together... Awwww I am going to cry).

I think I better tell you what is sew awesome though. I honestly can't remember the last time I sat at my machine a sewed. No seriously... I am guessing maybe 5 or so months and it's been eating away at me. It felt like a piece of me was missing, kinda like my arm feels naked without my craft tattoo... Ya know?! Lol

Well on the weekend I sat and sewed 2 storage baskets from donated fabric! Don't they looks totes professional? That's because they are!

Also I am loving this blog. We fail miserably at timing our phone calls but knowing we have a shared space is really special!

Love and light,

Finally...

I have finally picked my next crochet project!! From Mollie Makes... I would love to do it in rainbow colours and have just the right yarn too!

I do feel your crochet letters are awesome.. Especially against the lovely backdrop of staterails psychedelic seat covers...

After 3 months of preparing for the craft stall it has been and gone... I estimate the stall made around $500!! I have spent the last week recovering from the fete a bit like this ....
I thought I would share that with you .......

Crochet Commute

Hello, good morning!! I am currently on the way to workies and unlike all the other commuters who are busy on their mobiles (well I am too but only to post this so I can get back to my alphabet) I am usually busy crocheting although sometimes I can be found sleeping.

I would like to invite you over to my #crochetcommute hashtag on Instagram. You can feel creative while commuting yourself... Maybe that's what everyone else is doing too. Hehehe

I have no idea what these letters will become. Maybe I'll felt them, make textured flash cards, add them to a shirts, make gift cards... Oh it's endless really. The only problem is I am stuck on letter M. He's giving me grief but I will not let him defeat me. I will make M happen!

Until I figure out hyper links on my phone the pattern is by handy kitty and can found here: http://handykitty.tumblr.com/post/57331725411/use-your-left-over-yarns-of-assorted-colors-to

Monopoly is dangerous

I will tell you why....

Last night all the adults were having a great time, laughing, playing monopoly and having a few drinks.

Next thing you know, Tim, our awesome house elf/long term friend is laughing so hard he starts to choke! We can't get him to breathe, he then falls to the ground... As he falls down, the large pane of glass for the outside door smashes, shattering everywhere.

We finally get him to breathe, after what seems like forever, but he's cut his leg and has glass deep in his leg and wound.

Off to hospital where he is currently, requiring x-rays and an operation to remove the glass.

Tim has a phobia of needles, hospitals and operations.

It's been 5 hours and I havent had any news on how he is.

The moral of the story ...... don't play Monopoly.

The Possibilities.

Imagine my excitement rounding a corner and spotting this. If you sew you can probably recognise a sewing machine case a mile away too. I ran straight towards it thinking of all the possibilities it held within. I was a little giddy actually.

I stopped. Knelt down in front of it, took a deep breath and held it, taking the handle in one hand ready to pull.

Exhaling I lifted gently expecting it be stuck. It was light... Too light.

My heart sank. It was empty. Devestated that all the possibilities I was giddy from moments ago were never going to be... Not even 1.

I am ok now, I vented my shattered dreams on Instagram and to be honest it would have been a bitch to carry on peak hour trains for the 2hr trip home.

Not bad for a first blog post hey?! That's pretty much how this blog started. Tina and I would send pictures to each other of the projects we were working on and one day we just decided to blog it instead. So really this is just a glorified and more time consuming way for us to share our crafts. Only difference is YOU get a glimps into our creative world.

Hopefully we can fill this emptiness with laughs, crafts and awesomeness. You might want to stay tuned.

Hugs Steph
